Let’s take it outside!
The North Texas OPC has only one goal in mind – to strengthen the outdoor climbing community in Dallas/Ft. Worth. When they poured the concrete of the silos in 1950 It’s doubtful anyone there could’ve imagined the building’s second lease on life would be a result of crazy humans climbing up the side. Who knew a disused grain elevator would turn out to be the world’s tallest indoor climbing gym? The design of the facility and its location in the metroplex basically provides DFW with the closest thing to climbing outdoors you’ll find for miles around. Nearly 70 years later, the concrete still stands stronger now than ever. Today we use it to teach everyday people interested in the ultimate sport how to climb in places like Red Rocks, Joshua Tree, Horseshoe Canyon, and Yosemite.
